Maged Mikhail - Development and Implementation

Maged finished his undergraduate studies in Computer Engineering focussing on microprocessor based systems design. After completing university graduate education in computer science, Maged worked in large consulting firms such as Electronic Data Systems (EDS) and Accenture. In 2002, Maged left Accenture and started his own IT consulting business, Technomedic, which focused exclusively on the needs of medical practices. In 2004, he partnered with the Midwest Vein Center. |

J. Gordon Wright - Functional Designer, Clinical Director

After obtaining two bachelors degrees from Washington University (BS Electrical Engineering, BA Biology) Dr. Wright then culminated his formal training with a two year fellowship in Vascular Surgery under Robert Hobson at Boston University. Dr. Wright was then recruited to the full-time faculty at The Ohio State University where he had the opportunity to train 8 fellows in Vascular Surgery, numerous residents, medical students and graduate students through his clinical activities and basic research. In 1978, while a medical student at Loyola, Dr. Wright developed a clinical database registry for cardiovascular disease that is still being used today. Since then, Dr. Wright has continued to have an ongoing involvement in the development and maintenance of clinical databases, computer decision support tools, and electronic medical records. With Maged Mikhail, he is the co-inventor and co-developer of Vein-DrawTM. |

Melissa Simon - Director of Marketing and Client Relations

After completing a degree in English writing, Melissa worked for a medical education and communications company on drug promotion programs for clients such as Eli Lilly and Company and TAP Pharmaceuticals. In 2004, Melissa began working in the vein care industry on marketing initiatives that boost physician referrals, increase patient volume and improve patient satisfaction. She takes great pride in marketing a product that improves and enhances the lives of others and feels that VeinDraw™ is an essential part of a well integrated marketing program for vein care practices. In her spare time she writes an online blog and takes spinning classes, but not at the same time.

Samantha Wolf - Pre & post Sales Support

While doing post graduate work at DePaul University, Samantha Margaret Wolf was the Information Systems manager at a manufacturing company in Elk Grove, IL. This involved specifying, building, installing, and maintaining the company’s computer network plus user training. Her Masters Thesis documented the custom software she developed for the company: a complete database and user interface for ordering, shipping, invoicing, accounts payable, receivable and payroll.
After completing her Masters Degree in computer science at Knowledge System Institute, she went to work for large companies in downtown Chicago as a senior database programmer, project manager and application developer. Her responsibilities also included training users and support. In November of 2008, she joined Vein Technology Solutions. |

Lars Brandt- Programmer

For 16 years, Lars worked as a Director of Information Technology and Lead Programmer at a global manufacturing company that supplied the automotive, power tool and computer industries. His experience includes implementing and supporting an ERP system, developing custom database solutions, and designing application software to handle project management, inventory tracking, EDI transactions, barcode labeling, intranet portal and other responsibilities. He has a Bachelor’s degree in English and a Masters degree in Business Administration.

Leon Shernoff- Programmer

Leon Shernoff, PhD has developed complex database applications in several programming languages while working for the University of Chicago, Deloitte & Touche, and a variety of manufacturing and construction firms. He also programs for his personal use, inventing his own system similar to XML or php for generating crosslinked web pages generated by a database of mycological information, and a computerized research system for chess openings. When not at work on Vein Technology Solutions, he runs the Tiny Mahler Orchestra and Mushroom, the Journal of Wild Mushrooming.

Holger Brandt- Programmer

Holger has been programming since 1980, learning numerous programming languages along the way. His experience spans several industries including telecommunications, automotive manufacturing and currently healthcare. Holger has also worked on network design and implementation and hardware support at all levels. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Physics and a Masters of Business Administration, both from the University of Chicago.

Mark Boron- Programmer

Mark finished his Masters Degree in Computer Science from Northeastern Illinois University in 2008, where he specialized in database design, web application development & graphics. Mark has designed a video game using OpenGL, Blitz3Dand C++, also worked as a database administrator at a transportation company for 4 years. Mark's experience includes building web application systems using software engineering principles, PHP, MySQL, JavaScript and documenting those projects in the Software Requirements Documentation (SRD) and Analysis and Design Documentation (ADD) including all database dependencies and system architecture for end users and advanced users. |
